All money raised through ticket sales will go towards the ‘Gifts For Gambia’ Christmas campaign for The Erenjang Project.
Set up in 2017 by Manchester based photographer & yoga teacher Madeleine Penfold & primary school teacher & African style drummer Hannah Carrington, The Erenjang Project works to support children in Kotu, The Gambia throughout their earliest and most important years of education, providing support to the children who's family can not afford to send them to school.
Last year the girls raised £10,000 and renovated the whole of Erenjang Nursery School, sent all teachers to college for training and found sponsors for almost half the school children with fees, equipment and clothing.
This year the project continues, aiming to raise more funds working with local businesses in order to set up a school feeding program, a women's empowerment program for mothers and continue supporting the children of Erenjang.
The girls are currently campaigning for 120 Christmas shoeboxes of gifts to be donated by Oct 15th so that every child in the nursery school can receive a gift this Christmas.
"We believe that every child deserves the right to an education - it provides a place where they can learn, play, create, explore, grow and be children.
Through our support, we provide school fee payments, uniforms, books, teacher training fees and school maintenance so that they can go on to be the best that they can be.
We know that by coming together we can build a brighter future for the children of Erenjang." - Madeleine & Hannah (co-founders)
