As we move away from summer, the mind and body are looking to find a new rhythm which we'll explore through live drumming and movement. During Autumn the plants are peaking and drying, the colours continuously changing as the low light from the sun glows through the trees. At this time of year the Air element and Vata energy dominates, so our Earth Mandala practice will to balance out excess energy and help us feel grounded.
Lead by Eirian Collinge, you will start the practice by awakening your body slowly through deep, long held Yin Yoga postures focusing on a specific group of muscles, preparing you for the more dynamic, Yang like – Mandala Vinyasa flow.
Following the main structure of Ashtanga Vinyasa, The Mandala Sun Salutes will move you in a spiralling way, 360 degrees around the mat – honouring the spiral patterns that nature uses to shape and create all the material and energetic substances in our bodies. Focusing on the element of EARTH - Expect to work on deep hip openers and steady, strong standing postures - allowing you to really feel grounded and balanced in Muladhara Chakra.
After Eirian has finished leading the mandala flow, Mat will then take over and lead us through a session of drumming whilst cultivating Kundalini energy.
Mixed level class - it is advised that you have experience in Vinyasa Flow due to the nature of the Mandala Vinyasa
